John Harrison

Service: John Harrison served as a private in the American Revolution in Virginia. He enlisted in September 1776 and served three years in Captain Gabriel Long’s Company, Continental Troops. He was also a private under Colonel Daniel Morgan’s Battalion of Riflemen (11th Virginia Regiment) in Culpepper County, Virginia.
Family: John Harrison’s first wife was Bettie Headley. His second wife was Nancy Miller. John and Nancy’s son William, was born on August 5, 1753, in Westmoreland County, Virginia; he also served in the American Revolution in Fairfax County, Virginia.
